In the over 2000-year history of Chinese brush painting, the lotus flower has always held a prominent position and has been greatly admired by scholars and artists. Lotus seeds and lotus roots are also commonly found ingredients in Chinese cuisine and are highly valued for their medicinal properties. The lotus flower is referred to as the "sacred flower of Buddhism," symbolizing "pure land," and representing "purity" and "auspiciousness."

In this class, you will follow the guidance of instructor Su Wang and utilize traditional painting techniques, brushes, ink, and rice paper from China to create expressive lotus flower paintings.

Adults: beginner to advanced.
