She usually has a new, original expression taking shape. Cheryl has been growing her creative juju since childhood in Michigan. When she moved to Denver in 1971, a display of brilliant beads in the old Folklore Center on East Colfax grabbed her attention --an epiphany! Beads have been one of Cheryl’s favorite expressions since then. Sometimes she will summon sewing and embroidery skills or yarn to add unusual components to pieces. During the Covid lockdown, Cheryl discovered new uses for bottle caps, inner tubes, smashed wire, collage scraps, dissected vintage jewelry--another creative epiphany. This artist is thankful to have lived and thrived in Salida, Colorado for 50 years. She has shown in several galleries there, offered workshops, served on the Council for the Arts, took part in studio tours, and in the long-running Annual Art Walk, in the historic downtown district. Cheryl co-founded a community symphony and published a satirical newspaper. The best things that she has created are two wonderful children, who sponsored her relocation to Arvada in 2024.

Little Ava is a lightweight, laminated paper moonfly.
