This fun, quick workshop is the perfect way to welcome summer! These beautiful forged flower necklaces are the perfect jewelry making project for any level and make a great gift - or gift for yourself!
We will shape and forge bronze or silver filled wire to make a unique flower pendant, and add bead accents for a pop of color!
We will cover how to use basic metalsmithing tools, and how shaping and forming of metals can be done using forging on bench blocks, anvils and mandrels. Then we will wire wrap our piece to add stability and to add our bead embellishments. Last, we will cover how to hang your pendant on a chain, and to properly finish your piece which you will take home.
Materials and tools will be supplied. Just bring your imagination! Ages 13 and up.
Please wear closed toe shoes. This is close up detail work, please bring any magnification eyewear you might typically use for such work. You can also bring any personal jewelry making tools that you prefer to use and beads you might want to incorporate into your hoops.
