Artisan Hammered Hoops or Pendants are essential jewelry accessories and the perfect jewelry making project for any level - no soldering required! Create a simple textured hoop earring or pendant, or add gemstone beads to add a pop of sparkle and color!
Use your imagination and play with different methods of texturing metal, shaping and forming metal into a hoop or circle, and if you desire, create dangles of simple metal or with gemstones!
We will cover how to use basic metalsmithing tools, and a variety of items to texture metal including texturing hammers, hammering with common household items, and others!
We will also discuss how shaping and forming of metals can be done using forging on stakes and anvils and mandrels. Last, we will cover how to properly finish your piece which you will take home.
Materials and tools will be supplied. Just bring your imagination! Ages 13 and up.
Please wear closed toe shoes. This is close up detail work, please bring any magnification eyewear you might typically use for such work. You can also bring any personal jewelry making tools that you prefer to use and beads you might want to incorporate into your hoops.
