A Colorado native, Cheryl is a retired registered nurse in Windsor who has found a new passion in artistic expression. She has always had an appreciation for art and seeks out exhibits and galleries wherever she and her husband travel. Several years ago, Cheryl began experimenting with acrylic fluid art on canvas, charcuterie boards, and coasters. Working on wooden surfaces rather than canvas, Cheryl has expanded her artistic endeavors with more of a mixed media approach. Mica pigments and resin catch the light with colorful shades and shimmers in her seascapes and geode paintings. Shells, sand, stones, and crystals add textured interest. Most of her pieces may be displayed on either easels or walls. Cheryl’s geode paintings remind her a bit of the state’s rich mining history. An acquired love of the ocean from travels has provided inspiration for her seascape scenes.
