Instructor Sarah  Juschka (NEW INSTRUCTOR)

Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Blue Moose Art Gallery

This relaxing yet super-fun Spring Break art class is perfect for kids ages 5 and up, including tweens, teens, and adults who want to create together!
In this hands-on painting class, we’ll be creating bright, flowing koi fish paintings using a combination of soft pastels and acrylic paint. Koi symbolize calm, balance, and perseverance, making this both a joyful and soothing creative experience.
We’ll begin by gently planning the koi shapes and movement, then layer soft pastels to build color, softness, and flow. Acrylic paint will be added to create contrast, texture, highlights, and depth as the koi and water come together. Students will be guided step-by-step, with plenty of flexibility to work at their own pace.
This class is designed to be:
Creative and relaxing
Easy to jump into at any age
Flexible so everyone can work comfortably at their own level
Younger artists will receive clear, supportive guidance, while older kids and adults can explore their own color choices and creative details. If time allows, students may even begin a second koi painting to experiment with different movement or colors.
✨ All supplies provided
✨ No experience necessary
✨ A calm, creative Spring Break activity for all ages
Children under 8 may benefit from having a grown-up participate alongside them. This class is designed to be collaborative, supportive, and enjoyable for families and individuals alike.
I’m really excited about this class and can’t wait to paint koi with you this Spring Break!
