Chris was born and raised in Yorktown, Virginia, and moved to Colorado in 1992. He has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, and New Zealand. His formal training as a painter began with his mother, who is a successful artist and an art educator. She encouraged him at a young age to make different types of art, with a focus on painting. From many museum visits on the East Coast and trips to Europe, Chris developed a passion and respect for the old masters’ works and American Impressionism. His formal training is from a combination of college courses, workshops, and his mother. His paintings and drawings reflect an appreciation of classical realism, craftsmanship, and the beauty in everyday places and objects around us. He lives with his wife in Old Town Fort Collins.
