CHUCK SOLOMON, Woodcarver, Blue Moose Art Gallery

Chuck grew up in southwestern Colorado hiking and observing nature. He became a professional ecologist, working primarily with endangered species in the Central Valley of California. Chuck became a woodcarver over 20 years ago, specializing in hummingbirds, songbirds, waterfowl and mammals, both realistic and interpretive. He has won over 140 ribbons at shows in Colorado, California, Alaska and Canada, including Best of Show and Best of Division. He has also judged shows in Colorado and California. The coauthor of three books and author of many articles on wood carving, Chuck lives in Loveland. He is an active member of the Norther Colorado Woodcarvers Club and Denver Carvers Club. He also teaches woodcarving classes.
