Deb has an interest in combining art with inspiration from nature. Over the years she experimented with drawing and painting. As a park ranger, she saw patterns of nature all around, and translated those patterns, plants, and animals into sensitive and detailed pencil and charcoal drawings. The love of art and nature again merged when she discovered felt-making. Today Deb gains inspiration from the world around her with the color and texture expressed in her fiber. She recently began painting silk with dyes so she could incorporate abstract designs into her felted wearable art. Her garments have been regionally and nationally recognized.
