Instructor Stephanie Cox

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2026 from 6:00PM to 8:30PM at the Blue Moose Art Gallery

Understanding exposure is the foundation of photography and learning how to control it opens the door to creative possibilities.

In the first half of this workshop, we'll explore the three elements of exposure: aperture (f-stop), shutter speed, and ISO. We'll discuss how these settings work together to create a properly exposed image and how each one influences your creative choices. We'll also discuss how advances in camera technology have changed the way photographers approach exposure, giving us greater freedom to concentrate on the images we want to create.

In the second half, we'll put that knowledge into practice. You'll explore your camera's different shooting modes, learn when and why to use them, and gain confidence in making choices that help you achieve your photographic goals.

Class Requirements

No prior photography experience is necessary. Bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera with a fully charged battery and memory card. Some familiarity with your camera is helpful, but even if it's brand new, you're welcome!
