Since retiring in 2022, he has pursued painting full-time, and a hobby is now a full-time passion. While visiting family in Fort Collins, Bruce and his wife fell in love with the magnificent scenery of Colorado, returned several times to enjoy hiking and exploring in the wonderful parks and open areas of the region. Though many of Bruce’s paintings depict scenes from his travels in Alaska, Hawaii, and other beautiful areas, he now feels he has found his true Muse in the mountains, rivers, and natural areas of northeastern Colorado. A self-taught artist, Bruce particularly enjoys painting small landscapes, finding it both challenging and rewarding to instill a sense of distance and space in such small formats. Bruce and his wife relocated to the Fort Collins area where they can enjoy the Colorado lifestyle and be inspired by the wonderful scenery year-round.
