Originally from Green Bay, WI, with four decades in Coeur d’Alene ID, Cyndie now resides in Fort Collins. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Idaho and spent her career in education—elementary teaching to college administration. While searching for a creative outlet after retiring, she entered the 2022 Coeur d’Alene Art on the Green poster contest—mostly because she had a drawer full of colored pencils and craved the energy of color. She won… so began her love of the media. Self-taught, every piece of hers “depicts a snapshot in time, a whisper of adventures, or a memory of love. Artwork is a story, a moment, a representation of thoughts impossible to express in words.” Each frame for Cyndie’s art is handcrafted by her retired husband. The wood varies from found, purchased, or repurposed, and is unique to the art. Together, each drawing and frame is completely one-of-kind.
