Mark Porter, Jeweler

Mark is a Colorado native from Byers on the Eastern plains. He earned a BFA from Colorado State University with a studio concentration in metalsmithing, and he now resides in Milliken with his wife and three kids. He enjoys the entire creative process, from the first spark of a new design concept to the development of the idea through sketches on paper, then the fabrication of the piece (including overcoming its challenges), to the satisfaction of seeing the completed piece, and finally, the joy of seeing others appreciate and (hopefully) purchase his work. His hope is to "retire" from his day job and become a full-time artist in the next few years when his kids are out of high school. He’s currently trying to dedicate as much time as he can to jewelry making to get a good head start on the transition.
